The Crimiso - Landlords, Hotel, Holiday Homes at Castellammare del Golfo

"Le Camere del Crimiso" is named after the Crimisus river, that is the current name of the river San Bartolomeo.
Crimiso was the confluence between a hot and a cold river - Scamandro and Simoenta river.

The origin of the word can be traced back to Aceste, the legendary king and founder of Segesta, the ancient name of the river Troas or to the Elymians’ homeland.
The Battle of Crimisus in 340 B.C. was fought by Syracuse and Carthage.

Despite the fact that Syracuse had 5.000 infantrymen and 1.000 horsemen and the Carthaginians were 70.000 men, the latter were defeated.
